Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the TrarrenShot application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms are provided by TrarrenTech ("TrarrenTech," "we," "our," or "us"), a brand operated by an independent developer. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

TrarrenShot is intended for adult users and is not designed for children under 13.

2. Description of Service

TrarrenShot is a macOS screenshot and annotation tool. The App may include, but is not limited to, the following features:

• Region, window, fullscreen, and "One Shot" combined capture
• Scroll capture with image stitching
• Magnifier and pixel-accurate color sampling
• Annotation tools (shapes, text, arrows, blur/mosaic, etc.)
• Clipboard export and file saving (e.g., PNG, WebP, HEIC, JPEG)
• Menu bar access and background operation
• Optional Pro features, which may require a one-time purchase or subscription

The exact feature set may change over time as the App is updated.

3. License and Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Install and use the App on a macOS device that you own or control
• Use the App for personal and commercial purposes
• Capture screenshots and create annotated images for your own use
• Access and use features that are available under your selected plan, license, or subscription tier

You may not:

• Resell, redistribute, rent, lease, or sublicense the App
• Use the App in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Circumvent any technical protection or licensing mechanisms in the App

4. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

1. Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except as permitted by law.
2. Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
3. Use the App to infringe the rights of others, including privacy, copyright, or confidential information.
4. Use automated scripts, bots, or unauthorized tools to interact with the App.
5. Interfere with or attempt to interfere with the normal operation, security, or performance of the App or related services.

5. Screenshot Content and User Data

You are solely responsible for the content you capture using TrarrenShot, including any screenshots or annotated images.

• All screenshot content is generated and controlled by you.
• You must ensure that your use of screenshots complies with applicable laws, workplace policies, and third-party terms (for example, apps or websites you capture).

We do not claim ownership of the content you create using the App. You remain the owner of all images and materials you capture or annotate.

6. Data Storage and Privacy

TrarrenShot is designed to work primarily on-device:

• Screenshot content and annotations are processed and stored locally on your Mac unless you choose to export or upload them.
• App settings and preferences (including capture settings, hotkeys, and annotation defaults) are stored locally on your device.

Optional analytics or crash reporting may be used to improve stability and performance. For details, please refer to the TrarrenShot Privacy Policy.

7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

TrarrenShot may offer paid features through one-time purchases and/or subscriptions.

7.1 Payment Processing

Payment processing depends on the distribution platform:

• For purchases made through the Apple App Store, payments are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's App Store terms and policies.
• For purchases made outside the App Store (for example, via our website), payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record.

7.2 Subscriptions and Access

If you purchase a subscription:

• Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
• For subscriptions purchased via Paddle, management and cancellation are handled through Paddle in accordance with their terms.

Access to paid features continues until the end of the applicable billing period after cancellation.

7.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are handled by the payment provider through which the purchase was made:

• For purchases made through the Apple App Store, refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies.
• For purchases made through Paddle, refund requests are handled by Paddle in accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paddle provides a minimum 14-day refund window.

We do not directly process or issue refunds, except where required by applicable law.

7.4 Digital Product Notice

TrarrenShot is a digital software product. Access to paid features may be provided immediately after purchase. Refund eligibility may be limited once access has been granted, except where required by law.

8. Third-Party Services

TrarrenShot may integrate with third-party services, such as:

• Analytics and crash reporting tools
• System frameworks provided by Apple (e.g., for OCR, window capture, or image processing)
• Operating system APIs for accessibility, keyboard events, and file management

Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of third-party services.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Rights

• The App, including its code, design, logo, name "TrarrenShot," and related assets, are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
• We retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the App and its underlying technology.

You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.

9.2 Your Rights

• You retain ownership of any screenshots, annotated images, or other content you create using the App.
• By using the App, you may allow us to collect anonymized usage data (if enabled) solely to improve the App's functionality and performance.

10. Accessibility and Permissions

TrarrenShot may request system permissions, such as:

• Screen Recording permission (for capturing the display)
• Accessibility permission (for global hotkeys or certain interactions)
• File system access (for saving captures or opening existing images)

You may choose whether to grant or revoke these permissions at any time in macOS System Settings. However, some features may not work if the required permissions are not granted.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we:

• Do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices or configurations.
• Do not guarantee that captured content will always render exactly as shown on screen.
• Are not responsible for any loss of data, including lost screenshots or settings.

You are responsible for backing up any important content you create with the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China):

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
• Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscriptions in the past twelve (12) months, if any.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases, parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:

• Your use of the App, or
• Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law, or
• Your infringement of any third-party rights in connection with your screenshot content.

14. Termination

14.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time. You may uninstall the App from your device to cease its use.

14.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if:

• You violate these Terms, or
• We decide to discontinue the App or certain features.

Where reasonable, we will provide notice before discontinuing the App.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Taiwan, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
